This blog might be long, it might be short…I am just going to go with it.
Our thoughts and prayers continue to be with Paris and the entire country of France as they pick up the pieces after the horrible terrorist attacks that took place on Friday Night. May they find peace in the midst and endurance to pick up the pieces and move forward.
Now why did I label this blog ‘People’ ? Well simply put, because people are irritating.
Especially people who aim to discredit a tragedy based on the action or inaction of others during a previous tragedy.
WHO DOES THAT?!
Seriously, is there a book that defines how people should respond to tragedy and what their actions should be?
Give me a break and stop with the foolishness.
If I want to turn my profile red, white and blue as a symbol on social media of solidarity with one of our (America’s) strongest allies…I will.

I see people all over the internet suggesting that since multiple other tragedies that happened prior to 11/13/15 didn’t get a facebook option for a profile picture change that previous tragedies weren’t as important?
When did we get a ‘Tragedy Levels of Importance Police’ ? And why does that mean I can’t allow my humanity to show for one tragedy because the option didn’t exist for another?
That makes zero sense.
The other thing floating around social media is that somehow the #blacklivesmatter movement should be dismantled because Black people in America aren’t being targeted by Terrorists and Black folk in America have it good compared to what happened in Paris 11/13/15.
How do you even come to that kind of logic???? NO! NO! NO! That is not how it works.
Tragedy is tragedy and one does not outweigh discount or refute another.
People who subscribe to either of the aforementioned situations pain me. The logic is off-base and extremely counter-productive. And if you are a person of color subscribing to these logics, please review, rethink and reframe your thought process.
Humanity was attacked in Paris on 11/13/15 and Humanity will prevail.
For those who might not know, Humanity is defined as:
